What Is a Divan Bed?
A divan bed consists of a base and a mattress. The base is typically a solid, upholstered platform, which provides a stable and supportive foundation for your mattress. Unlike a traditional bed frame, the mattress will fit perfectly on top of the divan, helping to maximise bedroom space.
Many divan bases incorporate built-in storage, either in the form of drawers on the sides or at the foot of the bed, or as an ottoman-style lift-up base, which can be used to store bedsheets and everyday items. This makes a divan bed particularly popular in smaller bedrooms where wardrobe space is limited.
