Where do I start with childrens mattresses?
A short guide to children's mattresses
Buying a good quality children's mattress can seem like a difficult task but it's just like buying a mattress for yourself. We have a range of matts that have luxurious fillings from memory foam to pocket springs and hybrid mattresses that combine the best of both worlds. The most important thing is that your child finds it comfortable whilst also supporting their body to avoid spine and joint problems. If possible get them to test drive their mattress in a store and remember to ask our very knowledgeable staff any questions you have. Find out more about our children's mattresses, including our favourite memory foam and sprung mattress by visiting the Advice Centre. On there you will find questions like what is the best mattress for kids and what is the best bunk bed mattress for kids?
What is the best single mattress for kids?
Each child is different and has differing needs when deciding what mattress to buy. Some children require a supportive firmer mattress that moves with them like our pocket sprung mattresses. Some children require something that bends and moves with them while having a softer feeling and our foam mattresses would be perfect for them. A lot of this depends upon your child, if they move around a lot in their sleep a pocket sprung mattress is probably the better choice. If they overheat, have posture problems and you want a more durable mattress, memory foam could be just the ticket. The best mattress for your kids is your choice.
Latex infused mattresses
The structure of latex means it is naturally resistant to dust mites. This helps maintain a fresh and healthy sleep environment. The rubber trees used to collect latex convert over 90 million tons of carbon dioxide into oxygen every year. This makes latex one of the most eco-friendly mattress fillings available. Latex beds are also durable making them the best choice for kids when their mattresses often get a lot of wear and tear.
Hybrid mattresses - are they the best single mattress for kids?
Hybrid mattresses combine the best of both memory foam and pocket springs. Many are made with natural fillings adding to the comfort factor and giving you a peaceful nights sleep. The top layer of memory foam focuses on your body shape and posture whilst underneath this layer is pocket springs to support your frame.
