Individually Pocketed Springs
Unlike Open Coil (or Bonnell) Springs, Pocket springs are separate from each other and not bound by a rigid wire framework. Each spring is encased within its own fabric sleeve, and as the name of the Backcare Extreme suggests, it contains 1000 of them (based on a King Size). This independence allows each one to compress in accordance with the weight placed directly upon it. In practice this allows the unit to 'follow the shape' of your back, on-the-fly. This maximises support by ensuring as much contact between the mattress surface and your body as possible.

Pressure Relief
As the mattress is able to distribute your body weight evenly across it core, this prevents the build up of pressure points on the heavier parts of your body such as the hips and shoulders. Prevents Roll Together
Pressure on the springs is localised just to the ones your body comes into contact with. This means that if the bed is shared by two people, they each have their own support zone, with movements during sleep immediately absorbed so that they do not disturb the other person. Even a significant height or weight difference doesn't matter and they won't find themselves involuntarily rolling into the centre of the mattress together.
Single Sided
Specifically designed as a non-turn easy-care mattress, the Backcare Extreme 1000 should be rotated top-to-tail on a regular basis to ensure its longevity, but rather conveniently it does not need to be flipped over.
