What does rolled mattress mean?

A rolled up mattress is a mattress that has been specially designed to be rolled & vacuum packed. Rolled up mattresses deliver great support and comfort whilst also having the convenience of being easily transportable.

Can rolling a mattress damage it?

The process of manufacturing and packing a Rolled Up Mattress causes no damage at all. The process typically involves compressing your mattress, and using a vacuum to compress the mattress to approximately 25% of its original size.

The foam sleeping surface improves over the first couple of months due to foam cell structure becoming less resilient and slightly softer. The short amount of time that the rolled up mattress is compressed will actually speed up this process, improving the feel of the foam over time.

How long before you can sleep on a rolled mattress?

Although most roll-up mattresses will expand within an hour, they usually take up to 8 hours to be ready for use. Aspects such as fillings and size all affect the amount of time it takes a roll-up mattress to expand. In some circumstances, mattresses can take up to 24 hours to regain their original shape.

Are spring mattresses delivered rolled up?

Some spring mattresses can be rolled up and the main answer for this is cost and storage space.

Are roll-up mattresses as good as non-rolled up mattresses?

Roll up mattresses come in a variety of different styles and comfort levels, meaning there really is something suitable for everyone. Open springs can be compressed in much the same way as foam.

What are the benefits of a rolled up mattress?

Many mattresses do not reach their optimum levels of comfort until they have been used for a few months. This is because materials need to settle and soften. A rolled mattress does not need such a long settling in time. In fact, a rolled mattress could be at its best on the very first sleep because the rolling process can help to soften materials. However, this does not in any way compromise the durability or quality of a rolled mattress. It’s just one of those situations where it works well straight out of the box.

Are rolled mattresses good for the planet?

Roll-up mattresses are an environmentally friendly way to deliver mattresses. The compressed nature of the mattress means that the product uses less packaging. They can also reduce the amount of time that a delivery vehicle is on the road, as more of these mattresses can fit into a delivery vehicle at the same time.
